I was born in Texas and lived there until the age of 14 when my school teacher parents moved our family to Gary, Indiana. I went on to The University of Iowa in Iowa City where I played football and ran track. After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree, I entered Iowa's College of Dentistry, receiving my D.D.S. in 1978. I taught and practiced dentistry for a year at my alma mater and was then accepted into the Prosthodontics program at Marquette University School of Dentisty. I received my Certificate in 1981 and rejoined Iowa's faculty as a full-time professor. I discovered that I have a true passion for education along with my passion for practicing dentistry!
I continued my formal education going on to Iowa's College of Law and received my Law Degree in 1991. I joined a group dental practice and practiced dentistry while attending law school. I remained in private practice after law school and rejoined the faculty teaching part-time focusing on special care and relationship building between patients and dentists. As a professor, practicing dentist and lawyer I have dedicated my career to providing the very best dental care while building real relationships with patients.
I have lived in Phoenix since 1996. I live with my wife, Helga, a small parrot and two cats. I love sports, music, comedy and fitness training.
I am the #1 Arizona Cardinals Football fan having played and trained with some of their coaches while at Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!).
